Draft proposals for developing good milling practices (GMP)

Are we ready for marketing premium grade palm products (MPG)? We have to lay the foundation now for branding our palm products as today marketability of products is greatly influenced by brand names. Oranges, fried chicken, bananas and even sweet potatoes now carry brand names. MPG palm products can become a household name if we alter our processing techniques to cater for certain quality standards that will be appealing to the niche markets. Before someone else does it, why not we lead the game? This paper discusses some simple ways that are inexpensive to develop good milling practices (GMP) for the industry to achieve the required quality standards that is an essential back-up tool to justify branding.
