Renewable energy (RE) development in Malaysia is going through an exciting phase. The perception that RE for power generation using biomass is dirty and primitive, no longer holds good. There is a growing recognition that biomass can be used as a substitute for the generation of electricity, being accepted as the fifth fuel in Malaysia.
