Palm oil milling – how do they do it in Brazil

This article is a summary of an oversea report completed by Dr. Ma Ah Ngan who visited a palm oil mill in BraziL. The mill – Agropalma S/A, located at Belem, Brazil – is a 100% Brazilian owned equity capital corporation. It owns some 45 000 hectares of land including 16 000 hectares planted with oil palm, 2 000 hectares for infrastrucure, which include two palm oil mills, laboratories, offices, and school and health-assistance units while the rest are preserved as forest under Brazilian law.
