The Way Forward to Navigate Food Safety and Quality in the Palm Oil Industry

Food safety and quality are two crucial elements in the food production system. Food safety principally refers to the practices of managing contamination in food products for human consumption as a preventive measure from health concerns (Haghiri, 2016). Contrariwise, food quality focusses more on the consumers’ perception and values of food products such as characteristics and features (FAO and WHO, 2003).
