MPOB is now in the process of conducting road shows to disseminate the progress of the MSPO implementation strategy to the industry and the stakeholders. The first road show was held at the MPOB Head Office on 19 February 2014 followed by weekly road shows in Miri, Kuantan, Johor Bahru, Sandakan and Ipoh. The mills are encouraged to get involved in MSPO as it is only a matter of time before all our mills will be obliged to get MSPO certification. Mills are advised to initiate measures to get prepared for MSPO certification. Prior to the actual audit proceedings by the certification bodies, mills can prepare the ground work so that the transition is smooth and orderly. In order to facilitate the preparatory work, this article contains the MSPO principles which are expected to give the millers a good introduction, so that they are not taken by surprise when auditors call on them. The contents of this article are to be read carefully as all mill executive staff are expected to be well versed with the MSPO standards.
