The potential condensate return from process heating in a palm oil mill is 20.5 tonnes per 100 tonnes of FFB processed. In the installation discussed in this article the condensate was primarily from the kernel bin heaters, cake breaker conveyor jackets, digester jackets and from most of the drain pockets in the piping distributing back pressure steam throughout the mill.
