Corporate social responsibilty
ANDREW YAP Kian ChungBusiness doesn’t exist in isolation nor is it simply a way of making money. All businesses involve social interaction of employees, customers and suppliers. The local community is affected by the business activities which also have an impact on the environment. Thus social, community and environment issues are increasingly on the radar screen of companies and organizations. These values need to be incorporated as an integral part of corporate values for successful business strategies. The corporate social responsibility (CSR) is all about understanding the business’ impact on the wider world and considering how this impact could be utilized in a positive way. It means taking a responsible attitude, going beyond the minimum legal requirements and following straightforward principles that apply whatever the size of business.
